Immunotropic effects of nitrogenous metabolites in healthy humans

چکیده

Background. We have previously shown that nitrogenous metabolites immunomodulatory effects, both in healthy rats and humans exposed to pathogenic influences. The purpose of this study is their immunotropic activity clinically people. Materials Methods. object observation were 27 men (aged 24-63 ys) 14 women (33-62 ys). plasma levels the parameters immunity twice with an interval 5 days was performed. Results. Judging by multiple correlation coefficient uric acid exhibits maximal (R=0,665), followed creatinine (R=0,596) urea (R=0,541), closes constellation bilirubin, conjugated bilirubin predominating over unconjugated (0,539 vs 0,484). Nitrogenous together upregulate level blood B-lymphocytes, CIC, IgG, IL-1, eosinophils monocytes, as well most phagocytosis neutrophils Staph. aureus E. coli. Instead, they downregulate aureus, relative content rod-shaped neutrophils, lymphocytes general NK-, T active 0-Lymphocytes particular. Downregulation reflects upregulation receptor expression, apparently CD22. Conclusion. exhibit humans, patients.

Kynurenine Pathway Metabolites in Humans: Disease and Healthy States

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that can be metabolised through different pathways, a major route being the kynurenine pathway. The first enzyme of the pathway, indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase, is strongly stimulated by inflammatory molecules, particularly interferon gamma. Thus, the kynurenine pathway is often systematically up-regulated when the immune response is activated. The biological ...

The biosynthesis of plant alkaloids and nitrogenous microbial metabolites.

The biosynthesis of plant alkaloids and related nitrogenous microbial secondary metabolites is reviewed. This involves discussion of the outcome of studies with isotopic labels and of genetic and enzymic experiments. The review follows on from a similar, earlier account [Nat. Prod. Rep., 2001, 18, 50-65], covers the literature for the calendar years 1999 and 2000, and contains 143 references.

Effects of muscle metabolites on responses of muscle sympathetic nerve activity to mechanoreceptor(s) stimulation in healthy humans.

Based on animal studies, it has been speculated that muscle metabolites sensitize muscle mechanoreceptors and increase mechanoreceptor-mediated muscle sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA). However, this hypothesis has not been directly tested in humans. In this study, we tested the hypothesis that in healthy individuals passive stretch of forearm muscles would evoke significant increases in mean M...

Additive gene-environment effects on hippocampal structure in healthy humans.

Hippocampal volume loss has been related to chronic stress as well as genetic factors. Although genetic and environmental variables affecting hippocampal volume have extensively been studied and related to mental illness, limited evidence is available with respect to G × E interactions on hippocampal volume. The present MRI study investigated interaction effects on hippocampal volume between th...
